  • Wow, what a world we've become when we are ready to send a 10 year old to prison. 10 YEARS OLD!!!!! While most 10 year olds understand death, and what shaking a baby can do, they don't possess the reasoning abilities of an adult. Without having all the information, who knows what was going on.

  • I'm not saying THEY were incorrect...I'm saying YOU must've taken in the wrong damn document. Most Vital Records offices issue a computer generated birth record. I am not familiar with what Arkansas does exactly, but they are becoming more and more common as the years go by.

  • No, there isn't. You obviously weren't showing them the correct document; I've seen it a dozen times at least. You were probably trying to show them the souvenir "certificate" the hospital gives you. THAT isn't a legal document.

  • Sorry, NYC, but it IS a real birth record. I have one, as do my husband and both of my kids. I got a passport with it, have renewed my driver's license with it at least twice, and got married with it.
